Russian kasha

I had a chance to try something Russian, called kasha, a Russian friend Mikhael prepared. It’s generally porridge made from cereal of all types, but I think it’s common for them to use buckwheat. It’s not like our porridge, where you practically can’t see the rice when it’s done. It’s added with milk and honey. Even though it seems like a simple meal, but it was really filling after a bowl. With a little help from wikipedia, it says that it’s one of the oldest known dishes in Eastern European Slavic cuisine and it’s a thousand years old!
